Example of combinations

In facial animation, face blend targets can be used in combinations to create expressions such as happiness, sadness, anger and phonemes. At times, a combination of blend targets will require the implementation of a corrective shape. Corrective shapes are blend shapes which are created to fix unwanted problems or bad deformations when 2 or more shapes combine.

The following images depict one such example of the end result of a combination of multiple shapes.

This series illustrates what happens when a combination of shapes is applied to the base head without the addition of a corrective.

This series represents the same combination of shapes with the inclusion of a corrective shape to adjust unwanted deformations caused by the c_JD and c_PK shapes.
